Happy 13th birthday Lily ❤️ welcome to the teenage Happy 13th birthday Lily ❤️ welcome to the teenage years which you are entering somewhat deaf and making sure you do what you want as and when you want.We love you so much Lily monkey 😘And happy 9th birthday to Mozi 🥳
Mozi turns 9 on Friday. He looks so much older tho Mozi turns 9 on Friday. He looks so much older though bless him. Autoimmune conditions are no fun! Also means he can’t have any special treats for his birthday either. He is still a happy boy though, a very lumpy, balding, food obsessed, happy boy ❤️His muzzle came off for the photo, unfortunately he can’t go out anywhere without one on now because he is so driven to eat anything when out.
Happy national puppy day ❤️❤️❤️ #nationalpuppyday Happy national puppy day ❤️❤️❤️#nationalpuppyday
Little squidge at Crufts! Obviously stressed beca Little squidge at Crufts!Obviously stressed because apparently every panting dog there was stressed 🙄Anyway we played a little with the new camera whilst there. Really impressed with how it did with those conditions. Hopefully get out with it again this week 🤞However good phone photos are they really aren’t the standard of a good camera! Need to take more photos, especially now the oldies are getting older!
Crufts 2026 ✔️ We do enjoy doing Discover Dogs t Crufts 2026 ✔️ We do enjoy doing Discover Dogs though this year we arrived and it was as if Dill said “Oh not this again” but they both entertained their public very well ❤️Was a very different year though in terms of questions we got.The first was about recall, don’t think we have ever been asked so much about what recall is like. Though unlike previous years it did seem to be a big deal breaker for people. It appears people want dogs they can easily train a recall and have those lovely relaxing off lead walks that you don’t really get with breeds like munsters.Maybe things are changing and having dogs that recall properly is now actually something people care about? Wonder if the tightening on the sheep worrying law has had anything to do with it.One of the best things about having children on the stand though is we get asked a lot about what the breed is actually like with them. This year the toddler wasn’t very well so he was with grandparents but we still had the almost 2 month old baby with us. I love talking to other parents about munsters because the truth is they are brilliant with the kids - as long as the toys are out of reach because they will get stolen. I mean I’m sure there are days our two wish we didn’t have kids but in general they are brilliant with them. Raven does not like toddler walks, she decides that we don’t pay her attention on them and can be more challenging but that’s what we told people. They are brilliant with kids but personally, I wouldn’t get a munster pup whilst they are this small. In part because Dill was horrific with mouthing as a pup and mostly because munsters need time, they need a lot of time and effort put into them and with a toddler and a baby we just don’t have that to give right now.Does it mean we won’t have another munster? Not at all, we adore them and who wants stress free walks anyway? Right now though when we have full time jobs and two little humans that demand a lot of time, we couldn’t give a munster pup what is needed and deserved. Give us a couple of years and it might be very different! It’s really great being able to have these conversations with people and that’s why we love DD!
Saw a post today on a different platform about how Saw a post today on a different platform about how someone knew their dog was mooching in long grass putting up birds but they weren’t hunting. I mean I would seriously question what they think hunting is but made me think…Dogs take in scent so much more intensely and more detailed than we do. The munsters especially their nose never stops going when you are outside. Looks like they are lying asleep? Look at that nose… still going.I would even go as far to say that they are always hunting. They might not be actively hunting or in pursuit but their brains - definitely still thinking about what is around them and whether they need to look into a scent more to actively hunt it.Don’t get me wrong, the munsters chill well at home, unless we get visitors because all visitors are for them. They can switch off but do they actually switch off outside and “mooch” dunno, would argue ours don’t. Would definitely say a dog running through long grass putting birds up is hunting not mooching. Think there is just a difference between actively pursuing and hunting a thing and running about till a scent hits them. I would claim they are both hunting just different types…Dill has never been one to actively hunt unless there is a reason for it. Raven on the other hand will hard hunt to find something but that is just their different temperaments and how they hunt. Dill would much prefer to retrieve stuff but that doesn’t mean what looks like mooching about isn’t hunting. Though as he has got older he definitely does mooch at times, he is not as fit or energetic as he used to be! Saying that he will still go after a scent if he finds one…Anyway end of ramblings… be interested to hear other thoughts on it!

What do you mean I have to sit here and not go cha What do you mean I have to sit here and not go chasing squirrels, birds and deer?Feral beast. She is on lead arrest currently as apparently her ears don’t work and it’s not her fault 🙄
Had plenty tell us his muzzle is too big and looks Had plenty tell us his muzzle is too big and looks awful but just look at that pant room 😍For a dog that needs to run about all year, making sure he has the ability to cool himself down is so important. Might surprise people to find he uses most of that space up too when it’s warmer and he pants heavily!Always thankful that @the.muzzle.movement existed at a time when we needed a good muzzle for him. Honestly we tried loads! This doesn’t fit properly, even narrowed it’s still a bit too wide but as nothing fits him perfectly it is the best bad fit by a very long way!

Monday morning musings - why do people that take p Monday morning musings - why do people that take part in dog sports not want to appropriately look after their dogs?It is something that does genuinely boggle my brain. No one needs to take part in dog sports, the dogs definitely don’t- though some do thrive doing them. Yet so many people rush on young dogs, pushing them to do so much so young and then wonder why the dog’s motivation just disappears. The number of dogs that are so clearly in pain yet aren’t on pain meds or seeing physios/having some sort of therapy to help them. A dog that snaps at you and other dogs whilst exercising or expecting to - probably in a lot of pain! I don’t understand why people think it’s okay to put themselves before their dogs when they are the ones choosing to do sports.Makes me so sad when people don’t advocate for their dog.We have been in and competing in dog sports for well over a decade now (makes us sound well old 🤣) and it’s something that just doesn’t seem to change. People push dogs too much, too young both physically and mentally. Same issues pop up, they get ignored,I just don’t get it.Don’t compete in dog sports if you aren’t going to put the time and effort into properly training your dog - both in the sport and conditioning their body and brain to cope with what they will come across. Dogs are expensive anyway - dog sports will bankrupt you.Give your sporting dogs the care they deserve and one thing we learnt at times the hard way - listen to those that have been in the sport longer than you. Yes you may not agree with them, might not even like them but they have experience and that means a lot. You can always learn from those with experience, even if it is a hard pill to swallow - and we have had a lot of them too!Everyone starts somewhere. Those that thrive are the ones that are open to listening and learning.
I’m sure every day she is a little more grey. She I’m sure every day she is a little more grey. She is still just as beautiful as she always has been ❤️Thankfully after our little scare the other week she has been back to her normal self. Throwing tennis balls around each evening and wanting to play. Just 3 months off being a teenager 🥹Love you Lily monkey ❤️
Last time I posted a photo of the dogs I ended up Last time I posted a photo of the dogs I ended up getting a comment on insta and Facebook about Mozi wearing a muzzle. The difference was on one platform someone asked politely about why he was wearing one and so I explained. On the other platform someone posted something along the lines of “what’s with Hannibal?” and I deleted it. I’m more than happy to explain why Mozi is muzzled but there is no need to make stupid comments about it.So for those that are new/haven’t followed us since his diagnosis - Mozi is a greyster, a purpose bred dog for sprint sleddog sports, he is a clown, a complete idiot and has an autoimmune condition which has been diagnosed as Irritable Bowl Disease. He has to be on steroids, unfortunately looking like for the rest of his life, and we have to be very careful what he eats. He cannot have any animal protein as his body starts to attack its self so he is on Purina HA which is a pea protein diet. He doesn’t do well with the steroids and has a lot of hair loss, it also causes his body to over react so he has lots of lumps which are full of overactive skin cells. Regardless of all that he is a very happy content dog, as long as he gets to run about and eat 😂 he won’t be a competitive dog again because the steroids have stolen all his muscle mass but he is a happy boy. The muzzle keeps him from eating anything he shouldn’t when outside and it keeps him safe. So if anyone ever wonders why a dog is wearing a muzzle, ask nicely, don’t try and be funny and make awful comments.
